What do you normally say (good or bad) when you are one move away from inevitably mating your opponent .?

Lol.... When am in a good mode, i say thanks for the game,

When in a bad mode, i type "any last wish?" (ok i made this one up). Winning= good mode

Obscura365

I once didn't say anything after mating my opponent. I just sat there for two minutes until my opponent figured it out.

it usually doesnt get to that point, id prob be impressed that the person didnt quit or resign and let it get to the point where i could theoretically put them down via chat before delivering a mate

You're an immature punk who probably hangs more pieces than clothes on a washing line.

Just the classic: Mate Next.

I always thought it was against the rules to talk to your opponent during the game, so as to not lose by forfeit automatically, I just stay quiet.

Me: Hey, Jim! If I told you you were losing right now, would you believe me?

Opponent: Heck no!

(Make move)

Me: If I told you you were losing right NOW, would you believe me?

one time i was playing a kid at some tournament and he dropped a piece right out of the opening. He never resigned. i had to spend 60 moves simplifying to en endgame where be fought with much valor and courage but it was of course a futile effort. When it was finally mate i said 'god damn you really wanted to make me work for that eh?'. I was kindof offended by his tenacity at the time. it was probably kinda rude and i shouldve let it go.>>

He probably understood that playing a strong player is a privilege and that he should take every opportunity to learn from it and maybe polish his own skills. I often make my opponents beat me after a blunder. Why not? If I can blunder, so can they. I often play on in drawn positions too. And, sometimes, I get a win in them, even against strong players. Why not?
