After I lose I think gg
What do you think about after you lose?

I feel nothing.
...Then I wake up in the hospital, the last drip of froth still clinging to my cheek and someone, whom I absolutely have no idea who is, is trying to retrieve his wallet from my cleched teeth.

Since joining chess.com, for some reason now whenever I lose a game I think of waffles. Lots and lots of waffles.
Ummmmm . . . lots and lots of waffles . . .
Oh man...don't go there. I just finished a healthy heart breakfast - and now you have me thinking about a mile high stack of waffles with tons of high calorie syrup!

I've heard those fruit things that come from trees and bushes are supposed to be good for you. Maybe you could compromise and have a mile high stack but with some type of nice fruit-based topping.

Why everything goes wrong. I have four sisters and no brothers and I am the middle child. Simple deduction. Only kidding, yes, the above is true, but I am only kidding about what I feel like when I lose. If I had recorded the game I go over it and determine where I went wrong and attempt to correct the problem. If I had not recorded the game, I wish that I had done so. But worse than that is, when I don't record the game and I win it and I feel it was excellent, since I have so few. It sort of like getting a hole-in-one when you playing golf alone.

Losing happens.
Someone has to win and someone has to lose (unless there's a draw). So, what goes through your mind after a lost game of chess? What are you thinking? What are you feeling? Is it a mix of thoughts and emotions? I'm just curious. Thanks.
One can profit more from a single loss than a hundred wins."
- Jose Raul Capablanca
I keep reminding myself of such quotes, but sometimes it takes a while to soak in after a losing a game I thought I should have won easily.

well one win can be a better learning experience than a thousand losses.
I bet I could find a thousand losses in the history of chess where nothing was gained... maybe start with the game when two cheaters play (in case you haven't notice, they tend to always play at the exact same skill level in all their games)
but I get the point of the quote

When I lose a game, I feel a strange mix of loathing for myself and hatred for my opponent. Then I type 'gg' and move on.
Haha, good call.

“I won't play with you anymore. You have insulted my friend” - Miguel Najdorf
Najdorf said this when an opponent cursed himself for a blunder

Is there a way you could catch yourself ahead of time before you make a mistake? What would you be able to do differently?

There is only one player whom I've lost to in our local club. I would like to play him again. That is my way of handling a loss. I will roll up my sleeves, dig in, practice and study more...then I want to play that guy again.
He refuses. And the club disbanded because so many really poor players couldn't stand losing.
Anyway, after two requests for a rematch, I finally told this one guy in email: "Maybe you are afraid to play me?" No response. He won't defend his "title". Reminds me of Bobby Fischer.
Meanwhile...I get stronger.
