What do you think could make chess more interesting?

What about if getting yourself into a stale mate position isntead of being a draw was a win for the player in stale mate and worth 3 times as much points as a normal win. Imagine the crazy GM tournements /w ppl going for a stale mate from the start.

What about a variation of chess played where the queen is also capable of castling as if it were a king?

What about a variation of chess where the first player to get 3 consecutive checks wins even if it is not mate.

What about a variation of chess where the queen does not move like a bishop + rook, but it moves like a rook + knight or knight + bishop?

What about a variation of chess where players switch sides once every 10 moves?

What about a variation of chess where white gets 2 moves on every odd number of moves and black gets 2 moves on every even number of moves?

What about a variation of chess where you can win by moving your king from your kings starting position to the opposing kings starting position?

I sometimes play for cash. A bit of betting is a sure way to crank up the excitement.

Draws should be settled by fist fights.

I agree. I, uh, think I've done, like, every move you can do in chess now? Definitely need some new ones to do?

There are some good chess variant sites out there. Can't remember the name of any, but I've played some weird things.
