You do? I don't really see a difference. I think many times women's events can be more exciting than an elite level tournament, but if you substituted the women with men of a similar rating to those women, you'd probably see the same thing.
What if a girl became World Chess Champion?

I don't have a problem with black playing on, although I tend to be in the minority on questions of "resignation etiquette." I witness plenty of males with that kind of stubbornness (I'm one of them!). Chess players want their wins -- I don't really find that to be a male or female thing, just chess players in general.
Girya once saved bishop vs knight against king as the losing side. She's too savvy of these tricks :)

I love this conversation. I think it would bring a ton of attraction to the game and yes, more women would be inspired to play.
It's very humorous that the women are trash talking (see above). Fascinating!

For those wondering as I was at first what happens if black plays 78...Ra6 in the above game: White's f pawn wins the game since 79 f6+ messes with black's piece setup: if 79...Rxf6, 80 Rb8 and white promotes; if 79...Kxf6, 80 Rf8+ and white promotes; if 79...Kf7, 80 Rh8! Rxa7 81 Rh7+ followed by Rxa7 is a classic idea.

Or draws in the game before your post's case.

My point remains that a female 2500 has no disadvantage over a male 2500, because she can do anything the male 2500 can. She just has to want to; that's literally it.
That is a good point. Prof Arpad Elo's rating system is based on the assumption that there exists a normal (Gaussian) distribution of player strengths, and that these strenghts can be somehow quantified.
A rating based on performance against others is both a snapshot and estimate of current strength, as well as a record of development of the player over time.
Two players of the same current rating each have a 50% probability of winning a game. The Elo design of "pencentage expectency" is such that a person who is rated 900 points higher than his or her opponent, has a >99.99% probablity of winning. A person who is rated 200 points higher has about a 75% chance of winning. This is based on the "normal probability function (Gauss error curve), and is independent of all other factors.
As we all know, other variables come into play to affect the outcome of any game.

A girl/woman become world champion in chess?
It would be great for chess. And after number 3 or 4 we wouldn't even think twice about it anymore.
Just don't see it happening in the near future. Just statistically it's still extremely unlikely in this male-dominated sport.
Would love to see it though.

There were some mistakes on both ends but the endgame managed to save itself. Time trouble has that effect on people and those endings aren't exactly the easiest to play:

JJst because one man sukcs at typig doesn't man they all do. do't be sexist
Just because some women has no fighting spirit doesn't mean all women have no fighting spirit. Don't be sexist!
As a matter of fact, I find women's games typically more full of fight and daring than men's games.
