I think he would be that good because he uses his brainpower for light and time-space and it strategy but he would be better than the average Joe because he is incredibly smart, plus he probably he does not even know how to play chess.

A genius in one area is not genius in all. People think of chess as a "smart person" game even though people with phds and IQs of 140 can really suck at chess.
