What are you guys talking about ? If you get to 1200 your in the top 10% of players, I consider anybody above 74% to be decent in their field no matter what that is about 10% very good

I think the rating pool avarage is kind of low. I mean even if you're like 1050, it says you're on top %15
I'm like 1330 right now. It says that I'm in top %7. Or maybe it might be accurate. Cuz there were many countries with not even single GM's or 4-5 GM's max.
I'm from Turkiye, it's like on the 19. place on country list. So I guess it's slightly above the avarage. And if I check the rating list, I might be around top %13. Cuz I'm like 1700 rated for rapid.

The answer to all chess questions is:

No rating will ever be good enough. You will spend years playing a game, only to never achieve a feeling of accomplishment or satisfaction. You'll look back and regret wasting that much time of your life on it.

I'm technically in the % of bullet players ... I've had a rating as high as 2300 - (2400 on Lichess). STILL NOT GOOD ENOUGH. I can solve 3000+ rated puzzles ... doesn't matter.

THE ONLY THING chess has ever brought me is a fake entitlement of intelligence. When people hear I'm good at chess, or that I have a certain rating, they do (falsely) put me in a category of smart people. I don't doubt that I'm not an idiot, but I am far from the level placed on me. Also, I don't doubt that playing chess as a mental exercise has many benefits (so maybe that can be the saving grace).

At a certain point ... it seems it might just be worth hanging it up and spending my time on something better.

Is bullet a chess skill. It is only for fun. I just use my hands not even thinking when playing bullet. But I hope it is good for developing intuition and tactics.

Absolutely 💯 it is a skill. To be able to think so quick and have board awareness as well as creating traps at that lightning speed is the ultimate chess challenge.

I would consider anyone above 2300 to be pretty good at bullet.

Just reached 2300 today.

The only metric to determine if a person is good at chess is whether or not they make money playing the game. That is called professional. When you reach that level, you are good at chess.

Not true. There are many who are good at chess and have decided not to pursue chess competitively to make money because they have other priorities. Infact, there are TONS of people that exist in that space. I would consider myself as one of them.

U1000 is beginner. 1000-1500 is intermediate, and 1500-2000 is advanced. 2000+ is master/expert
Avatar of HangingPiecesChomper

wrong, i would say that U2000 is beginner, 2000-2700 is intermediate, and 2700+ is advanced.

Literally any elo is good if you have actual skill, jokes aside, i think its around 800-1000.
