What is actually my elo

My top elo is 800 but I can beat some of the Influencers bots like Mr Beast. So what is actually my elo?

I never played bots but from what I read on the forum I think they are overrated

Not very helpful

All bots are basically Stockfish (or possibly some other engine), but they are programmed to blunder. Which leads to a highly unnatural playstyle, with painfully obvious blunders (to human eyes). Real players wont do these kind of errors, because they are so obvious.

For example Martin will very often find Mate in One, while a real 250 player will most of the time miss it, unless its really obvious (to the human eye).

Thats why bots prepare you very poorly for the fight against real players.

And your actual FIDE ELO is approx 300 points lower than your chess.com rating. But thats only a very rough estimate. Honestly it seems like the chess.com rating is all over the place, compared to FIDE ELO.

I've never played OTB in a real setting, with time control etc. But I've heard that its much harder than online chess, and many previously pure online chess players perform really poorly first time OTB.

IIRC the rating system of chess.com (and lichess) was called Glicko 2. Not Elo.

Almost ignored the whole text but thanks

I think bot elo is a bit of masquerade. You get a nice Glicko rating from playing rated games on chess.com so that feedback loop is pretty close to your actual strength #.

I think your actual elo is 400 :)

#3 that guy generally isn’t

@Tucker_CheckmatedYou how do you know

I would guess your OTB rating, if you have one, would be 100.
My OTB rating is 372 JCL (Junior Chess League) (which is pretty average but I don’t really play competitively. Maybe next year ;P)

All bots are like 500 points over rated to make you feel better about yourself. Your actual elo is your elo obvs

Avatar of MAX-S8

Also your stats say your highest ever rating in all modes was just over 400 not 800, you might have started on 800 and lost the first few games till it clocked your true highest elo

Avatar of turboflixx

well elo is just a value or a numerical value to be in fact.

so Martin's elo is actually... -250 elo?!

Avatar of MAX-S8

He would be one of the worst 100 rated players to ever exist

Avatar of NormalAlvin

@MAX-S8 exactly

The bots ratings are inaccurate, if you want to figure out your level you simply have to play 50-100 rated games until your rating has stabilized and to avoid flukes
