What is the best board layout?

The default looks best to me.

yes those pieces are amazing

They look like those small magnetic chess sets.

Tho the pieces... their a little TOO flashy.

They look a little jumbled up to me...

When it's fixed I would use "Black First".

I'd use Dark Wood as the board type (Walnut would be the background), and 3D-Chesskid for the pieces, like this:

i hate chesskid pieces it brings back memories of when i used to play on chesskid like 1000 years ago. 

But its fine if u like them

it must be hard to think with those eyes staring at you...
