you can't really play both at the same time, just because your knight was out at c3 in the 2nd move doesn't mean it's a vienna... or I can call this the vienna/four knights/whatever the nf3 variation is called

No, Vienna and Muzio hybrid, called "Hamppe-Muzio" gambit

you could even play a double sacrifice here (MVL vs Hikaru)

crazy position but black has to be extremely careful to hold any advantage

no idea where the four knights came from^^

For players 2200 or better  1.c4  or 1. d4 or 1. Nf3

For players   700 to 2200  The Ponziani

For players 0-700 do not worry so much about specific openings--learn opening principles instead..

The best opening is your preference.

There is no objectively best opening, for now anyway.

If my opponent plays Sicilian against my e4 I could easily transpose the game into a levenfish attack or Yugoslav attack!

E4 is best by test" approved by Bobby Fischer!

Always go for the Yugoslav attack against the mainline dragon, black is a little better or can equalize if they play against the Levenfish correctly.

+1. If any particular opening would be objectively best someday, Chess would lose its beauty. Beauty of chess is in it's different possibilities.
