Sometimes, while playing chess, i play queens gambit and it says either queens gambit accepted or queens gambit declined after the opponent move. What’s the difference?

1 d4 d5 2 c4 dxc4 is Queen's Gambit Accepted.
1 d4 d5 2 c4 e6 is Queen's Gambit Declined.
1 d4 d5 2 c4 c6 is Slav Defence.
Queen's Gambit Accepted leads to more open positions. White can play e4 and Bxc4.
Queen's Gambit Declined leads to more closed positions. Pawn e6 shuts in Bc8.
Slav Defence keeps the diagonal of Bc8 open, but forfeits the options of ...Nc6 or ...c5.

A gambit means you are offering material to your opponent - in this case, the pawn on c4 - without an immediate equalization. Your opponent accepts your gambit if they take the pawn; if they don’t take the pawn, they have declined your gambit.
