Had Fischer faced the likes of Judit Polgar, he woud have been ripped apart !   Talking about women, I have a lot of admiration for Judit's style.

maybe in an upside down world she would have beaten Fischer

Ha! Judit would have crushed Fischer. Beloved Bobby didn't even want to play her when he stayed at their home. That was the smartest thing he ever did to keep his fanboys worshipping himLaughing

If I recall correctly, world-on-his-shoulders-Bobby took a rook pawn with his bishop in a world championship match--thus trapping his bishop. Now that is something I haven't even done for years.

Judit would have embarrassed Bobby.Wink

when was the last time Judit was in a world chamopnship match??

Fischer would have won against KAsparov i believe,  but it would have been a really interesting fight.

Judit became a grandmaster at a younger age than dear Bobby. Judit should be better than him just based upon being ahead of him in chess knowledge at similar ages, and having known more about chess because she appeared after he retired.

Chess players are a lot stonger now than they were in the 1960s and 1970s. This is not rocket surgeryLaughing

FIscher dominated chess for years before he became world champion...

every world champion ever said we never saw something like that.

Many said he was the greatest player ever, the most influencial player of the 20th  century... are you kidding?? Judit Polgar better than Fischer??

Maybe all those people who say Beloved is so great have a different definition of "great" than you do? Alexander the Great was nothing more than Jeffrey Dahmer reading Aristotle. The word "great" doesn't mean they are better than today's chess players. It would be myopic to think so, given that today's players have the greatest teachers ever created for showing the correct path through a game of chess: Chess engines;)
