Sadly being a person of rather limited Chess ability I would say that Patzer is really a rather harsh term and it would be a bit nicer to use the term Woodpusher ( I mean we can't all be great at everything lol ).
what level on this site is considered a Patzer??

Consider yourself as a patzer,
Consider anyone below rating as bigger patzer.
Problem solved!!
Lol.

Play more OTB games and your OTB rating will be adjusted to 1135. LUL

what are you the new euro woman. chess is not nice. It is a wargame

If you are below the median rating on the site, there are likely glaring and obvious weaknesses in your game.

I let out a guttural roar--muffled slightly by the noshing of raw cow flesh--as I shove my bloodstained rook down the a file and directly through my opponent's sternum.

In general, OTB players are considered to know the basics in openings, middlegames, and endgames and are good chessplayers at a rating of 1200. They know the basics but are not advanced. From that point on, greater knowledge of tactics, strategy, and NOT leaving pieces hanging are what moves them on.

A patzer is anyone who still hangs pieces every once in a while....which is usually up to about 1800. Or a B player (1600-1799) on down.

On the contrary, OTB players under 2000 struggle with elementary endgames, such as queen versus rook. Below 1500, most cannot checkmate with knight and bishop and make terrible positional concessions in the first ten moves of every game.
It is a rare player rated below 2200 in blitz on this site who can checkmate a lone king in the middle of the board with two queens.
I repeat: if you are not a titled player, you are a patzer.

Grandpatzers are Class A players (1800-1999). After that they are experts (2000-2199) and GK said they can't play him in simultaneous exhibits.

Is that website rating, or OTB rating, cause mine is around 1470

You add the two together for your true rating.

After reading many of the comments I think it can be said that the rating of players one considers a patzer rises as your rating goes up......
