@IanReneHn, why not play the Scotch? I don't play it very often, by I think it's quite simple and effective, beyond offering quick and intuitive development.

Believe me, the scotch is a very good opening.

But basically:

Taking out a queen in the opening is bad,and so is sacrificing pieces early

Haha, you mean 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. d4 exd4 4. Nxd4 Nxd4 5. Qxd4? True, you are taking out the queen early but Black does not have a way to chase it away so it's simply really powerful and gives white an advantage. And sacrificing pieces early is not always bad, only if it's not justified. You are just an 500 that's why you're having a really black and white view of things.
