how old are you yeres?

netzach

Yeresov needs to get himself an avatar & he''ll smash through 1400 in no time ! :))

netzach

The beginners here should never even look at chess-software until they can play satisfactorily at 1350-1400 ! (the approx av.rating on the site)

Leads them down false-trails analysing low-rated games with them... Smile

netzach

Well no stopping them I guess but wish they wouldn't post these nonsense games in forums. :)

Here_Is_Plenty

On the contrary, net, as long as they keep saying "look at how great I am" when they post it then I am all for it. :)  Personally I have taken to posting my mediocre club league games in the middle of stories.  Now that's self-aggrandisement.

netzach

I love looking over posted chess games that are interesting but much less-so those where one or both participants played dreadfully throughout.

Idiots on here post such games shouting '' Look at my great win ! ''.

Excellent chess engines can't really be questioned.

If you can't defeat the engine, you have no right questioning it.

The fact still remains that chess engines have practically solved chess.

bigpoison

Nope.  Not even close.

Here_Is_Plenty

No, wait he's right.  We were both captured by the same alien mothership and the creatures there told us it was true.  Nobody can doubt the word of the Kalzaxian Empire.  Next time a 1300 tells you chess is solved, believe him!  It is time for us to take up poker, brethren.

Seriously, Yereslov, just go away.  You are at best a distraction, a comic aside.  Nobody will ever treat your utterances with credibility.  If you told us the world was round we would start buying square globes.  Ok, it is ovoid I think, but the point is made.  If I were you I would change my account name, my personality and my style of internet posting.

You're so misinformed that it would be tragic if you weren't also so bullheaded and arrogant about it.

There are many examples of problems that engines can't solve but strong human players can.  Engines are not without their blind spots, especially when the position calls for zugzwang, positional moves or causes the engine to fall victim to the horizon effect.

2) The "right" to question?  Now if you had any education, you would know that Socrates would barf.

Who needs an education?  Clearly, based on the fact that others have achieved it, obtaining one is trivial.

zborg

@Youraslob continues to awe us all.  Just breathtaking.

If you call Yereslov a 1300 player, people get honked off.  Want me to forward the e-mails?  He is < 900 USCF and he believes that chess is solved.

900...1400...what's the difference. :)

TheGrobe

Oh, I know this: 500!

I know because I have a calculator that does math flawlessly.  You can't question it.

Here_Is_Plenty

I was wondering who would be first to give that answer.

TheGrobe

There once was a chess forum troll
Humourless (though perhaps droll)
As fresh thinking abstention,
He would just check his engine.
"It's solved chess! That'll show what you know!

netzach

He set great store by his engine

Solving chess was the question

The software was blinkered

Despite how he tinkered

Immortality became far less certain...
