I realize that Yeresov isn't a favorite of many people but he is a person and a fellow member and shouldn't be constantly belittled or mocked.  Anyway, that's how I feel about it.

goldendog

the bad poetry isn't helping anyone, either.

I agree batgirl......... but he should have not mocked Mikhail Tal.

batgirl

Tal is beyond any mere mortal's mockery.

Anyone advocating chess-engine use on here deserves to be mocked. The use of these illegaly on the site has caused more trouble than any other thing.

Must be right Batgirl.....

To Yereslov.... let's forgive and forget...

Gonna delete all my comments against you...

God must have given me a heavy conviction due to a negative perspective going on right now...

batgirl

I never saw his advocation of using programs in game, just his blind allegiance to their infallibility.

nameno1had

Anyone foolish enough to mock Tal, is too foolish to to see that they are only belittling themselves...

I'll forgive yeresov & perhaps God will too if he flings his engine in the bin & repents ?

If he is 19yrs old then that's old-enough to know better.

Is that not advocating use ?

Now this thread is gonna be trivial black and white.

batgirl

Speaking of Tal, I'm hoping everyone has read member Spektrowski's great translations of Tal's articles.  If not, go to his page HERE and go to View Spektrowski's Content then to pages 3-7, I think for a slew of articles by and about Tal.

Seems to me that batgirl is a conscience of advocating infallibility.

TheGrobe

Engines are no more all bad than they are infallible. Advocating use is not the same as advocating abuse.

For analyzing and making judgments, but not for playing - and there's nothing at all wrong with that.  And from his own games, there's no indication he believes in a program's use for playing.

TheGrobe

Also for avoiding analysis and making misjudgements.

That too, even if inadvertently.

Thanks Batgirl, Mato Jelic's video of Tal games are well illustrated and explained. Why was Tal addicted to alcohol with all his glories he attained as world chess champion.

His choice to write what he does BG hence provoking reaction naturally. Fail to see why he should be treated sensitively or babyishly for doing so ?

Remember he does not have to make such comment/posts it's his own decision to do so.
