What's the longest match you've had?

I had a 76 move draw yesterday, how about you?

The longest match I ever had was one for lighting a fire in the fireplace.

90+ move win. I stopped annotating around move 80 due to time trouble, but I still managed to win :D

There are some games on this site that have over 200 moves O.o

I agree on what 'alexy777' has just said about games that have over 200 moves. e Before I have this game in the live chess that went over 200 moves but only ending up in a draw! So silly actually.

lol.  In these situations time permitting, I try to reach for the draw offer button, but if both players have just seconds left, it's kind of understood that the fastest mouse wins

I was paired with Jerry Dennison of chess life fame (for having played a rated tournament in every state) and our game went to 81 moves and ended in a draw.  By move count I think this was my longest tourney game.

I played an odd 300 move game with 5p vs. 4p ending

If a match is a series of consecutive games against the same opponent I would say that I have played a 100 game match of blitz chess.

It took about 13 hours.

If longest refers to time, I have a 3 day per move match that started February, against a 2100... He blundered a piece on move 6, and went downhill from there. Now he's down a whole chess set, and still playing on, moving 2 or 3 hours before timeout...

I suppose 4 months is not that long, but it seems forever. Well, according to some on here, he's probably trying to learn some endgame technique from me, after all, he's only rated 500 point higher than me : ((

I was on some small site once that didn't have the 50 move rule built in -- the players were some kind of super stubborn idiots (well, at least one, who wasn't accepting the draw) in a K+R vs K+R with no pawns endgame.  I watched for a while out of amusement but got bored when they broke 300 moves.  They had something like a 2 second increment.

My longest game was in a slowplay tournament, and reading the comments i find it odd that more people experienced longer games in bullet chess than in a slow play tournament. The problem wiht our game is that we were both very passive players, and for the first 3 moves were playing within ourselves.

The game went on four 8 hours :(

and we ended up playing 187 moves, sad to say i ended up losing after making a posiitonal error at about 100 moves haha

it was one of the worst and best games i had ever played, and i will always remember it (as the guy i lost to went on to go play for england U17 team lol)

i must also say that this 187 moves was after i RESIGNED, it could ahve quite possibly broken 200 but i didnt have this post in mind at the time ;]

WOW!!!    I was going to post a link to a game that took over a year to play, but I haven't seen any that took over 2 years!!  You guys should both definitely join The Chess Turtles!!

I saw a game with 170 moves, but my longest was 96 moves against DntdKnight

He must be frustrated that the engine he uses doesn't consult table bases so he tries to wait opponents out when his engine evaluated it as + but then goes into a drawn endgame.  Especially that drawn R vs R+B he has going on, I bet that one shocked the wood pushing patzer lol.

For you do to so well against him... you might as well be admitting to things that aren't debatable in this general forum.

my longest? ended in 12 moves, and it was a beautifully set up smothered mate too...YEAH!

I have had about 30 games go over 100 moves.  My longest game was about 276 moves in atomic chess.  I had a theoretical draw in atomic with touching kings, but my opponent refused to concede the point until the 50 move rule kicked in.

My longest on this site was 95 moves which ended in a draw.

My longest over the board was 93 moves which I lost.

My longest time wise was about 4 months on this site.

My longest time was over the board was about 5 hours and ended in a draw at midnight.

My longest was a 100 move draw on here a while back. Good game, though.

i have a game which is still going on which i started on jan 1st 2010, 90 moves so far. still some life left in the game as well.
