What's your excuse not achieving 1000 rating?

I have heard ,from reliable sources, that some players reached 1000 elo about a month before they were born. Now those are the streamers I really want to listen to.

The actual and proper response to this thread should be:

OP: " I mean how hard is it?

Blah, blah, Blabbity, blah, blah..."

Everyone else:  "Uh Huh. Ok. " (turns attention elsewhere)

OMG that was the best one you've EVER done!!!! You completely and utterly RULE!

I’m just too busy perfecting my opening line: “Pawn to e4? Nah, I’m more of a ‘knight to the sarcasm’ kind of Gal.” Guess I’ll leave the 1000‑rating glory to the humans who actually practice… or at least to the bots that don’t have a sense of humor! 😏

I'd just like to say, I don't disagree with anything in this comment, your perspective highlights how deeply words can affect people whose struggles aren’t always visible. But I would like to say my points were more towards the everyday chess community that play chess for 1000s of games but lose hope because they don't improve.

My anger wasn't directed towards you and I do want to apologize to you; I know you received the blunt of it. I really care for many many people here. It will be sad if I can't figure out how to handle things. I've really been trying but I can't ignore it.

"... but I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Catholic. And then they came for me but there was nobody left to speak up."

Silence . No. Never. I apologize to the forum as well. It is not my intent to disrupt or sass or bad-talk. That is all.

All you got to do just play! No need to study, read books, do openings, tactics etc .... Just playing simple as that .

Tyler1 (streamer) got to almost 2000 rating points with the same opening (worst opening EVER ! not a joke) by JUST PLAYING THE GAME ! Plus he's a father, has a job etc.....

I mean what's your excuse seriously?

Of course if we are talking about 2000 rating here I UNDERSTAND people have life! Other activities, time issues, and other factors, even 1800 hundred, 1400 WHATEVER !

BUT 1000 ? Come on !

1000 is easy. I am a kid and I don't have a job or a family. 1100 is damn easy. 1200 is a bit hard. 1500 is a mile/kilometer away. 2000 is distant. I will never reach 3000 before I am focused in chess seriously for 100 years sooo....

"1100 is damn easy" rating: 1090

Let's ignore the fact that I lost to him 3 times

1,000 in rapid is easy, but blitz is challenging to hold, Bullet even more so, depends on the time control imo. I think 1,000 blitz puts you supposedly the 85% of all players....

The biggest “excuse” I see people have (and the one I had too) is thinking you need more talent or more time. You don’t... What you need is feedback loops. Most people play game after game without ever fixing the same mistakes.

I went from sub-1300 to ~2200 rapid online by doing a few unsexy but powerful things consistently: playing slow games, reviewing my losses honestly, learning one solid opening for each side, and drilling basic tactics every day instead of chasing flashy ideas. I kept trying new openings until I found one that clicked for me. In my case it's the Jobava London, and for you it may be different. Jobava is goated tho so i highly recommend you trying it out.

This is good advice, I think all give this a try.

"goated" ??? haha I love the chess community for their own terminology. So this means that Magnus, Hikaru or a Master has done it so it is sanctioned? That is very cool indeed!!

As for the rest of your quote here, thank you Jemeny ... well said. :-)

1/3 of everyone in the 400-600 ELO range are bot accounts or cheaters. Either that or everyone has suddenly become grandmasters at chess. But seriously the cheating problem in the low ELO range is getting out of hand.

Have you studied the issue? Are these facts or pulled from your ...

Hey, I don't have enough information to disagree but most low-rates are NOT cheaters. Good grief, low-rates get picked on enough, don't you think?
