1. d4.
I quit 1. e4 not because any semi open defenses, but because 1. ... e5. I just didnt see the fun in playing the fried liver (albeit I had 90%+ win rate in it) and I got destroyed when I played center attack. I was thinking about changing to a different 1. e4 opening like the scotch, a simplified ruy, or giuocco pianissimo, but now I play 1. d4, and I love the queens gambit a lot now .

London is when white goes d4 and then puts their bishop on f4, outside the pawn chain. They then make a pawn pyramid, and base the rest of their development ment around that (Nbd2, Nf3...)

usually i would say 1. e4 but since we are going off of first move, 1. f3 is a flexible option that i enjoy playing sometimes to not get into complex sicilian or french theory
