When do you start playing titled players on chess.com regularly?

Hello. I have 1700 in bullet, rapid and correspondence chess and 1800 in blitz on chess.com. From your experience, do you know at which ratings do I start getting pared up with titled players regularly? I am thankful for any responses.

At 2200-2299 blitz you'll see a few... maybe 1 in 40 or 50 games?
At 2300-2399 blitz you'll start seeing a lot more, but most your games will not be vs titled players.

So I guess it depends on what you mean by "regularly" but, IMO, titled players in that range are a bit weak. For example some brand new 16 year old master is going to be more like 2500. I guess partly because kids are good at speed chess. Masters below that I tend to think of as older, or maybe they're young but don't play much speed chess.

I don't know how it works for bullet. I assume it's roughly the same.

Regularly as in 1 in 50, as you said. Thank you.

At 24XX blitz here, 13 out of my last 30 opponents had a title, so still a little less than half, although it's possible that some of the untitled players actually did have a title but decided not to verify it with chess.com.

I would guess that at 2500 blitz and beyond is where there starts to be more titled players than untitled players.

Thanks

Oooh, interesting, I hadn't considered this, but players like this must exists, and certainly make the number of titled players we can count go down.

In fact you could be playing a titled player on their alternate account and not know it... or when they have multiple accounts are they required to have their title on both accounts? Hmm.

Just tossing in some more data, from personal experience:

At the 2300 level, it averages around 1 titled player in every 5 games.

Too bad you have to announce your rating... you have one of those accounts that permanently shows daily as your rating (same as me).

It can't be that hard chess.com... fix your sh*t

Today the diagrams lacked some functionality too (couldn't see variations).

I face a titled player in rapid maybe 2/50 but as you go up it gets higher. More so in blitz and bullet.

Hah! Interesting. I actually hadn't noticed that until you pointed it out.

I'm glad because my daily is about 300 less than my rapidhappy.png

Yeah, I assume guys like this are fairly common. Maybe more so on lichess, where there are less benefits to confirming the title with the site (on chess.com you get free diamond membership if you are titled). Also AFAIK titled players don't need to have a title showing on their other account, they can be completely anonymous.

2300 bullet there’s a forth or third sometimes of titles players. 2400 it’s definitely a 3rd
