I play friendly games OTB often.

I hear from weak players all the time "oh, I know this move is bad, but I'm going to play it anyway."

You probably have good intuition. If the move seems like it's bad, don't play it. That's part of becoming a good player. You have to be tough, and look for a better move even though it takes more energy.

If the king moves to 1 of the 4 center squares then it can be easily attacked by the opponent because it is not King of the Hill.
