How do you prevent your opponent from leaving opening book? There should be some kind of penalty when someone leaves opening book.

You don't. This is where the player with better technique comes out on top.

You don't. You win at chess by making strong moves after you leave book.

I agree110%.

I also think my opponents should follow preprescribed moves submitted by me beforehand.

if he left it at your place i should think you had better phone him,let him know about it and return it as soon as possible.

There are penalties for leaving the book. Find them, and punish by taking something or winning some tempo or position.

The book is all about not getting punished in the opening.

Chess is a religion, and Magnus is a god.

Magnus was actually not the best at bookmoving, but lately he has become so good at openings that he is writing the book, with his co-authors (prophets) Peter Heine Nielsen and Jon Ludwig Hammer.
