If we talking top 10 its the United States.

The USA has two players in the top ten. So does Russia. So does France.

They have 3.  Well I consider Fabiano USA.  Born and raised.

For now, officially it is 2 - Caruana and So. Aronian is still listed as Armenian on FIDE rankings.

It is between USA and Russia on the top level. USA imported some top GMs like So, Leinier Dominguez and now Aronian, and if they are able to keep doing it, they might even be undisputed in the future.

If we are talking about number of strong players it is Russia without a doubt.

Lets say top #15 and add Dominguez.  USA > Russia

Top 30 Russia has seven and USA has four.

You can prove anything if you get to pick and choose the conditions.

Per capita, Azerbaijan is the top chess country in the world.

I agree. They may not have the top players in the world, but they have a lot of very solid players.

Russia has more top players and many more very solid players (in top 100, and has more in top 10 or top 50 as well). India has some exciting prospects however.

Here you can see the average rating of top 10 players of every country. Russia tops the list:

Russia is probably the best. It think they’re the only country that’s top 10 is all over 2700 (I could be wrong but last I check everyone in there top 10 was 2700+).

Do they continue with a great chess school as it was before 1990's?
