In the middle game, with queens and rooks (and more) still on the board, Nigel Short, as White, unexpectedly walks his King up the board, towards the Black King... creating mating threats... and Black (Jan Timman) is powerless to stop it.
31.Kh2 deserves one exclamation mark.
32.Kg3 deserves two exclamation marks.
And 33.Kf4 and 34.Kg5 both deserve three exclamation marks.
After 34.Kg5, Black had enough, and resigned.
