For me, I really enjoyed the lower 500-600 range, I really didn't know a lot about chess and I was 6-7 years old. I just played the scholars mate Qh5 Bc4 every game. I didn't win a lot but I was having a lot of fun. What was your guy's favorite elo/era of chess?

I would say in my 900s when I was really starting to grasp how to really play chess instead of just knowing how pieces move and winging it. I was seeing real results as my rating grew and going to more tournaments.

1000s I think.

Probably 1400. My mistakes and blunders are a bit less obvious so I feeI like I can get into the complexity of the position better than at lower ratings. I don't get any kicks from winning due to unforced errors. It's a bit more like if one of us makes a silly mistake then they ruin the match for both of us.

500 put me back.

I love 100 range .. I remember literally gobbling the king without giving him a check first
