so logic would prevail if he played magnus style he would be just as strong as him

Factly, if Aronian play in the really, really strong style that AndyClifton refer to, then Aronian would do really, really well (good as Carlsen) as long as he not make really, really big mistake.

lets just put it this way magnus tends to play it safe aiming for a slight positional/endgame advantage which he could and usually does convert to a win. Aronian on the other hand tends to play complex games hoping for a knockout punch. It doesnt mean he cant play ala carlsen but i belive carlsen positional understanding is superior to anybody thats why he wins on long positional games and his openings suits him well.

Unfortunately, because he doesn't know that he really really needs to play in the really really strong style (probably because he's really really dumb), he play really really badly, and make really really bg mistake really really often. It's really a really big pity.
