Nope, I'm afraid I don't (hm...I guess what you're saying is Greek to me).
WHO IS THE GREATEST CHESS PLAYER OF ALL TIME? Defend your answer...

Hahahahahahahaha oryt TIME OUT! we dnt wanna see blood in here.. Some of u in here stink! U messn the thread! go brush ur teeth first especially SPATARN lmbo!

From the way Spart's been talking, I think maybe I met him here (of course, we all could've used a bath back then, even without the mud):
AndyClifton we've never met, I'd remember. Was there a lot of mudslinging where that picture was taken? You seem to excel at that; and consider that one of the few compliments I have for you.

Not to mention paul morphy. When kasparov analyzed one of his games with modern computers he could only find one move morphy could have slightly improved upon.
Kasparov's suggested "improvement" (bg4 instead of Morphy's rxf2! in the Bird-Morphy game) is hotly debated.
GM Mueller published an extensive analysis showing that Morphy's move has yet to be disproved, even with the study of today's top players using chess engines to help them play it.
Just think, we're having trouble analyzing Morphy's moves with 3200+ chess engines, and Morphy played these games 150 years ago. Just how strong a player was he?

what's the point of arguing who's the greates player of all time conforming only to our own thoughts! to be certain of the answer, let's ask the Grandmasters themselves whom they have proclaimed for.
I was the strongest from 1964 to 1970, but in 1971 Fischer was already stronger. - Boris Spassky
I mean, most of modern chess is his offering. Myself and the rest had those moves ready for us when we started out, but it had to take someone to discover them first. Bobby Fischer was that person. He was that person for entire generations of chess players. His was a singular life in that sense. He's made it easier for us today. - Viswanathan Anand
What I admired most about him was his ability to make what was in fact so difficult look easy to us. I try to emulate him. - Magnus Carlsen
Bobby Fischer is the greatest Chess genius of all time! - Alexander Kotov
I believe that Fischer surpassed all the former and currently living grandmasters in the ability to produce and process chess ideas. - Anatoly Karpov
If only I had had my duel with Fischer, my fighting level would be of a higher order. Once I had attained and mastered such a level - a level which for Kasparov is completely unattainable - I would have recalled it whenever necessary. - Anatoly Karpov
Fischer’s beautiful chess and his immortal games will stand forever as a central pillar in the history of our game. - Garry Kasparov
therefore, it is just pointless to say that it was kasparov, karpov, carlsen or the others considering the fact that they even proclaimed fischer to be the greatest!!! you are free to post to disprove this comment of mine. please, just be sensible on your posts.

Carlsen - he's not just handsome and incredibly talented but also oh-so-modest!

just because the engine doesnt agree with fischer the most, doesnt mean he wasnt the best player

Actually it is probably the best indicator we have. No human alive can pick better moves than Houdini. Sorry, but Houdini can crush any human alive today or in the past. So objectively Houdini picks the better moves. Like it or not, this indicates that even at Fischers top strength he would get crushed by those players above him on the computers list.

By your argument, Carlsen of today would get "crushed" (your word) by Kramnik of 2004.

The score does indicate that, although the difference between the two scores is minimal. Another factor is the amount of short draws in the Kramnik - Leko match. This could skew the score as well.

im very excited while reading your posts after i have added my comment in this furom..im glad to read all those healthy arguments,.I am going to post my defense for my last post maybe on May 18,2013,that is if im still alive by that day, hehehe. i just needed more time to construct my logical and sensible post.
nice day to all...!!!
I'm pretty sure you know what I mean, aside from the sharing of course.
