Like blade runner said.. It's not enough with just tactics.. I have played masters in long games, every time I don't blunder pawn or piece, but after about 30 moves my position is so choked up I have to give away a piece/pawn just to get some air..
Why am I 1600 rated but have a 2700 tactics rating?

10 good moves? I like the way you think.
Yeh like today I had a computer game analysed by a different program that didn't realise how stupid the computer was that I was playing; it told me off for 3 out of my last 4 moves telling me on average that I could have mated in an average of 6 moves, but it only took me 4 ... you have to be a bit Bruce Lee about these things right?
I read it 3 times, still don't undestand what you meant
You maybe had to see the analysis, it said about the last four moves MISTAKE checkmate in 12, MISTAKE checkmate in 6 x 2, MISTAKE checkmate in 4 but like I said it didn't take into account how stupidly the computer played, so I got checkmate in 4 moves.

That is why we have strategies and tactics in chess, not just tactics alone. Strategies combined with good calculation and tactical awareness is what separates the big boys from the amateurs. Carlsen's strategies are often very strong, leading to a winning endgame, but he is also a good tactician.

Chess is not a collection of declarative theory chunks but rather a procedure like skiing or cycling. You have to develop a good technique over years and decades.

Must be more. Like. Water.

Yes MFs explains this very logically.

Hello! I have went through many tactics and I recently hit 2700. I also have a puzzle rush high of 38. I only have a rating of 1635, but I plan to have a high of 40 in puzzle rush and a 2850 rating in tactics.
Why is my tactical rating so high?
You're great at making plans and spotting tactics! you can "get" the way the puzzle is trying to trick you.

Ah ha. thanks very much, I did think that was probably what was happening so it's great to hear it converted into the words of a very good player, fancy being able to see things 6 moves away, maybe one day I'll get to that point or probably get dementia first. Only time will tell. At the very least it would probably stave off dementia or if dementia is inevitable, hopefully encourage full blown psychosis at an earlier date.

My guess is that your tactics rating is very high because you are very good at tactics but your game rating is lower because of weaknesses in other aspects of the game: opening principles, strategy, endgame principles, etc. That's a wild guess because I don't have more information, but my tactics ratings here and at chesstempo are similar to my daily rating and if I had a tactics rating of 2700, I'd almost surely be well over 2000 in daily rating.

It's relatively easy to solve a tactics puzzle when you know there's a clear solution.
In an actual game, though, things can get messy, and often the best move isn't a tactical one.
Also, sometimes a short-term tactic (one that might work in a puzzle) can reveal itself as a positional blunder as the game goes on.
Mei cuo, exactly.
Only limit is... ... no limit xD
