Why am I getting +1 from 880 rated player?

Because most likely the 880 guy made the account just recently and has not played enough games, therefore Chess.com does not know his or her actual rating awarding you the points

I'd think the other way around

Maybe the 1095 had a high high glicko while the 880 was a true 880? that's my guess

That wouldn't affect me, though... I should still lose and gain the same amount.

First I get +1 from a 880 rated player, then the next game I get +0 from a 1095 rated player... What happened here? Was the 880 rated player a special abilities sort of person?
