Why are 900 rated players are better than 1200 - 1300 players

In my opinion it's more of a psychological thing mate.

When playing against players your level or even higher rated players, there's no risk of losing too much rating(unless you go on a tilt of course, but that is a discussion for another day); however, there's a big chance of losing more rating and not gaining much when playing against lower rated players.

Now judging by the title of your forum/thread, I don't think it will be quite a leap to say that you are focused much on rating.

Needless to say, when there is more risk of losing you don't take risks and don't play your best when your mind is already clouded with thoughts of being afraid of losing. And when there isn't, you play normally and end up winning.

Now the best thing to do would be analyse your mistakes and think to yourself, would you have missed it in an unrated game or while playing against a player at your level.

That's it mate, hoping it helps.

I regard anything under 2000 elo trash, lol. On another site I've reached 1850 elo in Daily time controls without using databases and without studying chess, so if anyone can reach 1850 without reading a single book about chess, then that rating must not be very good.

My point is the elo bracket on this site is completely bonkers under 2000 elo. Especially closer to 1000

your highest rating EVER was 1497, don't yap.

A 1500 shouldn't be struggling to beat 1000s on a regular basis obviously theres something broken here and he has a point imo.

ok then

Why are 800 - 1000 players are way stronger than 1200 - 1300 players ? like in the 1200 hundreds it was pretty easy to win but after some time I started getting matched against 800 - 1000 players I stared losing more and more . now I am stuck at 800 . 800 - 1000 players know all the theories and somehow always know the best moves against every gambit or opening I try to play . can anyone give me some tips .

Critter 1.6a 64-bit 4CPU ELO 3200 , Rybka 4 64-bit 4CPU ELO 3186 , Hannibal 1.7 64-bit 4CPU ELO 3196 , so let Magnus Carlsen and Hikaru Nakamura play 50 tournaments with Critter 1.6a 64-bit 4CPU , Rybka 4 64-bit 4CPU , Hannibal 1.7 64-bit 4CPU to see what rating they will have after those tournaments

The FIDE rating is more realistic than the Chess.com rating , because the Sonneborn-Berger system or the Swiss system is a more realistic rating than the rating that results from a game of a lower rating with a lower rating that does not enter the competition of a higher rating , for example, the first who is in the competition with a lower rating could beat someone with a higher rating, which would in that way reduce their rating more when they lose to a lower rating, until the lower rating would increase more with a higher rating would win , while when players of approximately the same rating play then the rating increase or decrease a little , although the first one of them can be stronger than several of them with a higher rating . So often players with a higher rating leave the game when they see that they have to play with a player with a lower rating, because if by chance they lose, they lose a lot of points, so the rating Chess.com is not real , It so often happens that a rating of 900 comes among the rights in competition with a rating of 2000 or more

If you want to know your real rating then don't play Arena rating-based tournaments, but play Arena score-based tournaments instead that is more real about rating
