Why are bots weaker than humans?

I played with one 1700 bot defeated him without a problem. I don't remember if I've ever beaten 1700 human. This may be a way to boost a rating without real improvement in the game. Not sure if it's fair. This bot made some beginner's mistakes.

It's kind of hard to get bots to play like real humans of a similar rating. My understanding is that eventually, there will be no rated bot play and they'll all be in the Play > Computer section.

And now I defeated Miguel-BOT who was 1723. We came to the endgame where he gave me a rook for nothing. I will definitely play more with bots. grin.png And what's also weired is that they play moves instantly...and they play bad. grin.png

No real human with a rating 1750 wouldn't play in so idiotic way.

These bots have to "accidentally" blunder somewhere so it's just a matter of when it appears
