If you want, I can fit a Gaussian distribution to the ratings of all men, and another to the ratings of all other men, and then we can clearly see that there is a performance difference between men and other men.
Why are Men Better than Other Men?
Why ? That is indeed a good Question ! Why was Henry Ford able to produce his Model T by the millions ? Why was Sir Edmund Hillary able to climb Mount Everest ? Why was Vincent van Gogh able to paint Masterpieces ? Why was Shakespeare able to write ? Why was Mozart able to create Music ? Yes WHY is indeed the Question ( however WHAT might the Answer be ??? ).
How fortunate you are that I am here with the answers! Respectively: because he owned lots and lots of factories; because he wore gloves and had a nice thick parka; because he was nuts; because he owned at least one quill pen; because he always had an ear for tunes.
--- ANDYCLIFTON --- Thanks for those answers that you provided, however I was looking for something deeper ( EG: because Henry wanted all of us to be able to buy a car ). However to continue: Why was Babe Ruth both a good Pitcher and a Great Hitter ? Why could Freud see into the workings of our Brain ? Why could Glenn Gould play the Piano in such an inspiring manner ? Why --- Why --- Why ??? Pehaps the answer is: just lucky I guess !!!

I am not a muppet! I'm how Barney looked (right as he entered detox).
Puff-n-Stuff?

Some men play chess better to compensate for their small #*%^s.
I'm terrible at chess
Suddenly, I feel very, very, sorry for Magnus Carlsen.

Why are chess players better at chess than non-chess players?

Good question. As a man, I know I'm better than any women at most tasks, those that fall into the categories of being hysterical and fainting excluded, but I see men running faster, lifting heavier things, drinking more pure alcohol etc than me all the time. Is this genetics, or have they just practiced more? I await to your response.
Is this why you've been practicing your swoon?

Yeah, if there's one thing we can conclude from chess.com forums it's that men are pretty much the worst men on earth, and so I no longer wish to be one.

Wow when I saw the title of this thread, It reminded me of Fyodor Dostoevsky's book, "Crime and Punishment" as well as Friedrich Nietzsche's Übermensch concepts. It is very dangerous to think one is superior to others and thus have the right to commit such acts that is not acceptable in our standards.
I'd say the ability of Chess comes from practice of pattern recognition. At the beginning of the game, both sides are equal and its what you make from it that decides who is better player. Exposure to many games will definately make some men better than others.
