i just started playing chess yesterday so obviously i'm not very good and almost every time i enter a game with chat on the other person makes fun of me like it says beginner on my page and I'm supposed to be playing with other beginners to try and get better. please stop being so mean I'm trying and chess is confusing for me

also can someone explain the difference between pawns and the horses ?

There is no difference. Turn off the chat if rude people are bothering you as there is nothing else to be done. You can also report them if the violated any rule. Best of luck!

That’s just how people are

Why do you ask the difference between pawns and horses (knights)?

Don’t worry about it OP, people who try to act tough and strive to humiliate others whilst hiding behind anonymity are the most insecure and emotionally fragile people in person.

Pity and ignore them, don’t take their tough guy facade at face value, that’s just giving them what they wanted to begin with.

When playing people you don’t know, you can simply have chat turned off. :)

Happens. I feel you.

As an earlier poster said, turn off chat and report/block.

There is no piece called a ‘horse.’ In reality, it’s a knight. Knights move like this:

Two squares up, one to the side.

Pawns move up two squares on move one, and for the rest of the moves one square up. Pawns capture diagonally.

People are people.

They are always the same.

Turn off the chat.

And remember... you are a man... you shouldn't be so sensitive person.

Try to smile in reply to their offensive words.

It's no problem. Just turn off the chat. Watch 100 videos for beginners and then play only slow games as ur taking the beginner lessons on here. Ur gonna be fine. People talking annoying stuff, thats life. U do u and ur gonna be a good player.

They did the same to the saints and prophets who came before us.

A horse like piece is called Knight, it moves like an L and can climb over other pieces.
It worths 3 points, same than a  bishop. It is usually used in the beginning of the game.

In many other languages, like Portuguese we say cavalo, and in Spanish caballo, that in English means Horse, for knight.

If you are a newbie I suggest you play against Jimmy, the Bot.

I like how people are responding to the title when the last sentence of the OP, the account creation date, and the status make it an obvious troll...

It's funny in Russia we call Chess horse - "horse'.

Bishops - we call "elephants".

Arnaut10

In my country we also call knight a horse. There is one more term - skakač and literal translation of that word is jumper xd.

Why do I have that strange feeling to say "look at it from another perspective"?

It's because you write like a grown up and are not illiterate.
