It's immaturity or cultural brainwashing behind the bother.
I taught school under, at various times, both male and female principals and there were men, highly educated, who were bothered by having a woman boss. There were no actions by the male or female principals that significantly distinguished one from the other. You'd think the Neanderthals would have learned a lesson from that!

If you just go with immaturity, you have pretty much everything covered.
Women don’t need to win at chess. It won’t help them get laid.
It makes no difference whether they are Male, Female or inbetween, they are people.
I have no problems losing to a woman 
I hate losing to someone called Robert. It's humiliating. I can handle any loss, but losing to a Robert is beyond my strength.
I have that problem too. Even hard to play against someone called Rob. Though not quite as bad as a Robert.
