Anonymity on forums makes brave “I did it for the lulz” trolls ... the same sort of fearless phenomenon that happens to some people when driving a car. They turn into crude, rude, gesticulating yobs.
Why are you all so mean?
Feelings of inadequacy, amongst other insecurities, often results in negative language. Just ignore those or take pity on them for their mental difficulties.
Tell me about it.... i thought chess was a mature and genteel game until i was called names by players on this site. Its no secret that some people in other countrys dislike americans and i am often treated rudely by european and south american players due to the flag next to my name. i am seriously considering changing it to a globe rather than the US flag.
Try the Moon globe. Nobody hates the moon. Unless you're given the moon. But then, of course, you could always moon back.
The internet is the worlds highschool.
Someone was quoted somewhere that
"Facebook is highschool on steroids."
This comment fits this thread perfectly!! Due to the fact that this person is getting trolled because she's a barbie girl and lives in a chess world. And she's hungry!
I get trolled too!!! Let me tell you something. I played a game where I blundered BADLY I mean I dropped 2 pieces. Fine. Instead of resigning I just gave him my Queen, and what does he do? Calls me a Jackass!!!
Maybe I deserved it. Such is life. Let me be trolled for all I care.
And why should you care, anyway? Making this thread just invites flame wars and more trolling.
i wouldn't have called you a jackass. i think for beginners it's important to experience different endgames. however, if you were an expert and didn't resign, i might have commented on it...
also it has nothing to do with you being a girl.
I think that's from Indiana Jones. And there's a grammar error...but whatever.

I just enjoy playing chess and people insult me and call me names on my profile!
Please try to ignore those immature fools who post insults on your profile frontpage. You don't have to put a picture of yourself as your avatar and it is certainly your decision to do so or not.
Just remember that with all internet sites, there are some genuinely decent people as well as low life dirt bags. I fall in the category of a genuinely decent person, but I really don't show much mercy for my opponents during matches.
Chess.com is a good place to hone your chess skills. However, don't expect to have intelligent conversations on your frontpage because there are mindless morons from all around the world who will patrol the pages for anything to latch onto such as weaker players.
Just try not be bothered by it, block anyone who causes problems and most of all have a good time.
To block irritating members who annoy you or post bad things, just go into your account settings; click on privacy settings and type the name of the member who you wish to block. Set your comments restriction to allow only your friends and presto... you will have a much more pleasant chess.com experience. :)

^^^^ I decided to delete my comments because I did not want any of the members to feel offended by my honest comments regarding their rude behavior towards the OP. Show some manners and be gentlemen. That is all.
I wish all of you well. God be with you.

Lighten up, Francis.
Anyone think that cc is the same as other message boards? Relax. Grow some skin.

Funny thing sort of. I've seen others post things like this, and, I am assuming, because they were guys, they were told to get over it. Yet, I have yet to see a message like that here.
Stop crying about it and toughen up.

It is both sad and true that some people are very rude. Do not take it personally. I mean, they do not know who you are.
The US has a strong position in the world and influences other countries, often in good ways but not always. Some of the bad comments you get are probably from people who are rude to just about anyone, but some are from people that for some reason dislike your countrys foreign policies, which is a huge subject and has many different expressions.
In any case, do not let other peoples rudeness keep you from playing chess.
