Does anyone else out there see my point ?
Why Can't I Uncastle a Castle ?

Let's say I move my Bishop from c1 to to d2. Then later I move it back from d2 to c1.
What's the difference between this & castling-uncastling ?
You see ?....there isn't one !

I don't mean to be rude, but is this a joke? The rules of chess hardly make room for illegal moves. And they only tend to apply in relation to being in check. The vast majority of movement rules pertains to what you can do. What you do in chess is what you are allowed to do. It's not free reign to play however you want, only watching to avoid illegal moves. Castling is a move that was specifically allowed. The rules are perfectly clear: "There are two different ways of moving the king: by moving to any adjoining square not attacked by one or more of the opponent’s pieces or by ‘castling’." That specifically disallows any sort of other movement. Again, I don't know if this is just a joke or troll thread but it's pretty dumb.

In before the lock
Why ?....this is a harmless question.
Fine, don't believe me...just know that I warned you!!!

This is not a joke....I AM SERIOUS !
I wanna know why....WITH REASON. Not just 'cuz the rules don't state you can't.
How do rulebooks in life get amended anywayz ?

I mean, looking at your post history I'm not so sure you're a troll as much as you are just incompetent.

Who in the hell would want to "un-castle"??? The point of castling is to keep your king safe...I learned that in the preeschool of chess

And I'm okay w/ that. Being called incompetent.
Pleez state your reason as to why we can't....w/ convincing evidence.
And you don't hafta sprinkle it w/ powdered sugar. I have (3) older brothers.

That's not the point !....is it available as an option ?
It might save your game one day....and you know it !

1. There is no point
2. The idea is completely ******** (well, I don't want the mods editing my stuff so I had to "sugarcoat it")
3. If you can give me an instance that uncastling would be helpful to the player (not in an endgame becaue the rook would have already moved and therefor you couldn't "uncastle") I will withdraw from the discussion

actually
cuz the Rules say so IS a reason.
Why can't I move my queen like a knight? (if the lowly knight can do it, why not the queen). Why does a pawn lose his ability to hop 2 spaces once he makes the first move? why can't the knight promote to a queen? why can't the king go within 1 space of a king??
one could ask questions like this forever.
and the only real answer would be is that rules are rules.
What it all comes down to is that Uncastling a arbitrary no-no w/ very little, if any, substance. Substance that I cannot find reason for.
And isn't chess just that ?....for minds that reason ?
