I think it's a good idea that the queen is unable to move like a knight. In some way, this represents the fact that one cannot be good at everything. Even the best in a specific field will have weaknesses in some other fields.
Otherwise, Carlsen would be world number one for not just chess, but also checkers, tennis, rugby etc.

And I thought you would be creative enough to ask "Why can't the queen jump over pieces like a knight does?".
Because then the queen would immediately move out of the pieces and it would be way too powerful and you would have somebody in check in 5 minutes

But you did- I'm quoting the title when I say, "Why can't the Queen move like a knight?" that's a question mark.

Oh, let's not stop there. Along with moving like a knight, the queen should be outfitted with a light saber, so she can reach over a few squares and lop off the head of a bishop. She also needs a blaster.... because there's no equal to the euphoria of shooting over the pawns and smacking the king's crown off.
