My motivation is that I sexually identify as a giant black "G" on a chessboard.
Or maybe it's because I value my privacy, and like using a logo that I made as my avatar rather than my face.

Does IMBacon or anyone else get more friend requests when they put a photo up? Perhaps that's the reason. Someone should try it for a few days and report back with the result. I guess they'd have to play a lot of fast games.

Maybe it's to prevent psychopathic stalkers from finding you when they lose a game or get way too involved about someone's avatar.

The amount of friend requests has not changed since i put this pic up.
But i have received some messages from a couple of online e-thugs.

I suppose it would depend on how photogenic you are, some would get more friend requests, the rest of us might scare of the few friends we've already got.
