idk, just don't play it yourself and don't play openings that could lead to it
I've been playing the queens gambit since I started chess competitively and I don't want to switch.

Well of course you suck at playing it as White, if you suck at playing it as Black.
That's exactly what you'd expect. If you don't understand a position well, you're going to play it poorly with either colour. I suck at playing the Spanish from both sides, for example. I don't play the symmetrical positions well. I need clear imbalances and plans. Without them I often either make unsound sacs/attacks in an aim to create imbalances, or I move pieces around aimlessly allowing myself to get slowly outplayed.
Yeah, what @game_of_pawns said. Since you don't understand the position of course you'll play it badly from both sides.

Oh, you want to play it from the white side, that makes it easier.
Just choose a certain setup like the Averbakh or Sämisch, then head over to chessgames.com and get 50 or so GM games from the 70s-80s and 50 or so from recent times.
Then play over them at a quick pace, not much more than 5 minutes a game. After move 10 or 15, pause, and write down a few guesses like what pawn break each side will go for, and where each side will play (kingside, center, queenside).
The first 5 or 10 games will be a confusing mess, and you'll guess wrong a lot, but as you see more games your intuition will improve, and you'll even start to notice common maneuvers, pawns breaks, even tactical themes and endgames.
And look, it's only 5 minutes a game. Just do a few games a day. After 1 month passes you'll understand the KID better than players who are 300-400 points above you

Wow, that seems like good practice. I actually want to play it as black. It just so happens that a lot of people like to play it against me when I'm white.
its so tilting
Dude, you SUCK AT CHESS PERIOD!
You're a 1201 rated IDIOT!
I could like you play three moves in a row to start the game and still crush you easily every game, without even having to think.
It's my dumb Jason boy again. I missed him
if ur black in the KID do a k-side bums rush w/ ur pawns. if u white against the KID try to blow the q-side out. expect lotsa violence by the middlegame and look for a piece sac. GL hun !

You're supposedly rated over 2000 and your flex is "I can give you a 3 move handicap" ?
lol
I mean, from your rating, your toxic posts, and your account creation date you're obviously that troll, but this is just funny.
Because of your language choice and syntax. Your thinking is broken.
Huh?

I'm rated 1201 in bullet, which I don't even play -_-. Someone show me his profile so I can check his ratings.
Openings are about understanding the heart of the position and middlegame plans that they give rise to. It is quite understandable that if you can't play one side, you can't play the other either.
Conversely, you are likely to play well against openings that you like playing yourself.
@Petyr-Littlefinger
wait what hes actually decent
Yeah, but a 3 move handicap in bullet isn't worth many rating points. If he wanted to flex on you he could have claimed something crazy like "I could give you a queen and two rooks handicap"
