ikr?!
Why do people always always resign when I have mate in 1?

People can resign whenever they wish.
In the 1970 Interzonal tournament to select the players for the World Chess Championship Candidates Matches, Bobby Fischer played 1. c4 against Oscar Panno.
Panno replied 1. ... Resigns.

What are you even talking about. I didn't post any games. Some people resign because they don't want to continue. but resigning when its M1 is unethical

Tru but if its M1 resigning is unethical

Resigning is never unethical.
A lot of weird people trying to force others to do what they want in their games lately.
You neither should be forced to resign nor forced to not resign. It is not unethical to play on in a losing position or to resign in a losing position. You can even resign at the beginning of the game because you're afraid of being embarrased by your opponent as bluemu posted about.
I don't see why anyone would do so though. Seems nonsensical to me, even the best players blunder and/or make mistakes from time to time. Bobby Fischer lost in 12 moves to an amateur once during a 10 game simul.(He took a poison pawn).
Chigorin in 1892 came up with a big plan to trap his opponent and prove how great a player he was starting with moving his bishop from d6 to b4. Forgetting that the reason his bishop was on d6 was to prevent mate in 2.
And by the way, Chigorin resigned when it was mate in 1.

What is "unethical" is your attempt to dictate to all other players on the topic of just how the game should be played.
You are not the Chess police.

I mean, they know it's over, so what's the point in continuing anyway? We could save 10 nanoseconds by resigning lol

10 nanoseconds is not worth satisfaction of checkmate. besides there's always the chance the opponent doesn't see it

Resigning is not unethical. One has a right to resign at any moment. However, I always let my opponent checkmate me when it's M1 or M2. Being nice does not cost anything.

Oh you do? How nice

Wow, you took the time to go though all my games to find one where I did resign? I wonder what in my post made you so upset to give you the motivation.
Okay, I guess it's not always, just most of the time.
So say you have a mate in 1 right? but then ur opponent just resigns. like seriously. just give me the mate!
