Why do people HATE the Scotch opening?

The best move is obviously Pe4, Nc3, Nf3

Playing against Ruy Lopez is not easy. You have to prepare against Schilleman, Bird, Fianchetto, Steinitz defense. That's without a6. With 3... a6... Arkangel, Breyer, Marshall, Zaitzev, Smyslov, etc. It's easier for White to play Scorch Opening.

I probably have better results with the Scotch than anything else.  But people don't usually complain about it, in my experience.

Yep, that's why you gotta be prepared

Maybe if I'm still ambitious to reach 2000. I don't play OTB tournament anymore. I'm content playing mostly Daily with 1400-1650 players.
