Why do you ask someone to be their freind?

Why do you ask someone to be their friend? I'm asking this because I start chatting with people, and I get lots of friend requests... Why?? Is it because you can see that I'm social and like chatting?? Like, I like friends but I just have that question

Probably sis, plus some find validation in having a lot of friends. Then you have some who have 10,000 friends and want more!
