When they play e4 you have multiple openings to choose, Sicilian, caro, French, modern, scandi, and many more, but by playing e5 you give that advantage to your opponent, which they can now play multiple openings like the bishops, the Spanish, Italian, scotch, center game, and a bunch more
E5 is not bad, just that you have to be well prepared for the barrage of openings that could hit your face hard

Just a note I'd like to add to this post.
This post was made almost year ago, back when I was 1700 and a very boring chess player. Since then, I have become a changed man. This thread originally existed as a sarcastic troll post for all the frustration of tilt I was having. After I dumped the useless 1500 philosophy of "E5 aFtEr E4 eVeRy TImE!" My rating skyrocketed, and now I am 2000. I have sufficiently learned many options other than "That move." Once again I'd like to affirm this was not my actual stance on the situation and I was joking, Also if some of my posts seemed strange, It's because there was another account on here, but he was banned.
HOWEVER, I STILL STAND BY THE FACT THAT THE CARO-CANT IS TOTAL RUBBISH!!!!!! COMMENT "#DownWithC6" IF YOU AGREE WITH ME!!!
I usually play e5, but I'm 1200 elo lower than you, lol
