Why Is It Mostly Men That Play Chess?

I've noticed that its mostly men that play chess. Yes there are women chess players and some of them are really good but from my own observations men seem to make up the vast majority of chess players. Why is that?

Hi, my opinion is that women may prefer some outdoors activities.They might also think, first they are not smart enough, second chess is not useless. At a professionnal level, women might need more supports from family and society. But things change. Soon in the next generation we will see more women playing chess. The queen's gambit movie helped  a bit.

Why do mostly men build everything,  invent/create everything,  etc.?

Also, most of them might think it's just a silly board game and they have much more important things to focus on.

yea I think the majority of chess players are male. Probably because in the olden days, it was considered a game for 'royal kings'. Or maybe because a lot of females think its nerdy or something. Idk
