Why Is the Rook so Short?

@Floating-Duck is surely floating among us silently, making sure @FBloggs cannot oppress us anymore by acknowledging Rooks as Castle. 
To FBloggs- These are Chariots and not Castle, you abominably oppressive dictator!!! Long live freedom, go down slavemaster FBloggs!!!

Floggs....It was a form of word play ...to flog i.e. to whip ....the type of thing oppressors are into.
Therefor Floggs is kinda like saying somebody who whips or oppresses .
