When I fill out official forms it gives me more than two gender options to choose from. Therefore, in my culture there are more than 2 genders. Proved.

Now if you want to argue there's only 2, it's now your burden to shoulder. Go ahead. Prove to me my culture and all those official documents are incorrect.

The official UK census 2021 gave people more than one gender option to choose from (male, female, non-binary, other).

Same with forms for the health service and employers. NBi prople are routinely accepted in education, work and the wider community. Except by bigots and hate mongers.

So, why are they wrong?

Back in the 50's, gender and sex were interchangeable. Then gender was redefined as meaning sexual identity. There are only two biological sexes, as well as various birth defects, like Klinefelter syndrome; that much is still agreed upon, except in the most radical circles. But gender can now supposedly be whatever the person claims it is.

P.S. What is this discussion doing in a chess forum?

I mean, as long as they don't shove my face in it, you know, tell me about it or post pictures online or anything, because that's fking disgusting... but that's ok because that's their business... if they want to go to hell for that nasty sh*t that's between them and God, as for me, I'm very tolerant and accepting because look...

... I'm not even saying that when a man marries a woman they should be stoned to death. I'm just saying they'd both be happier if they'd seen a psychologist and gotten that stuff worked out... but now that it's too late for that, if this is the only way they can be happy, I guess I'm ok with it.

Yep. I'm not one of those hateful Christians, I'm very open minded and tolerant. The Bible says to hate the sin, not the sinner. If a man and a woman love each other I think that's horrible, but only God can judge the wicked and I'm just a human. I'll do my job, and I'll let God do His.

It's not quite that straightforward, with sex and gender still being connected and in some contexts interchangeable. Indeed, iirc, the MW dictionary (the standard for American English) defines female (sex) using the term woman (gender) and defines woman as, amongst other things, as someone who identifies as a woman. Putting that together that makes sex and gender interchangeable and self-identifiable. And it makes zero difference, since it's all just a big semantic argument about definitions.

Sure, after you show examples of the "cesspit of homophobic and transphobic" posts that you claim are here. Cesspit implies that there are a bunch of them. I've never seen any. Then again, I'm here to talk about chess, not sexuality, so I tend to gloss over irrelevant posts like that.

Now, if you want to define people who don't believe that it's possible for a boy to become a girl "transphobic," then I would personally define that attitude as cisphobic. As far as "transphobia" is concerned, I've never met anyone who was actually afraid of transpeople. What's there to fear?

And again, what does any of this have to do with chess?

Well, biological sex is not up to subjective definition. MW can say whatever they want, but it's never going to change that fact that a sperm cell (male) must unite with an egg (female) to produce a new human. Unless of course we're talking about cloning, but that's artificially done.
