By heliolithic culture I am refering to the culture that arose during the new stone age. A prime example was the Egyptian culture in which stone tools were used and stone megaliths were constructed. They, of course, were sun worshippers. Jewish culture arose from the Egyptians, Moses was Egyptian and his people, the Jews were captives of the Egyptians so the Jewish culture was based on the Egyptian culture, even though they didn't worship the Sun as such. Other traits of this culture include the formation of tribal groups, the idea that inheritance is through the female and not the male, the imporance of the family and so forth. These are characteristics retained by the Jewish people to this day.

Don't you think if they were so into the Egyptian system, they would have stayed ? So, you believe they were slaves there, but don't believe they left because they felt mistreated ? You must think people enjoy having their sons fed to the crocodiles, leaving their daughters to be picked through by the Egyptian men, when the time would arise, was somehow admirable and should pattern their own society after them... ?

Puzzling ideas you have...

I have never said the Jews liked being slaves. What I said was that they may have derived their culture from the Egyptians. Just as black people here in the US hated being slaves because they were so terribly mistreated but when they were freed they adapted the ways of the white man only because that is the culture that they were raised in. And the old testament does mention the coming of the messiah. The thing that I don't understand is that the Jews read and believe in so many books why do they not also read and believe in the New Testament? As for leprechauns, ghosts and the tooth fairy, who is to say, maybe they really do exist. Scientists now tell us there are many more dimensions than those we already know about. Maybe these dimensions are inhabited by beings that we call ghosties and ghoulies and these beings cross over into our world from time to time.

What`s he mean by "picked through by the Egyptian men"? How insulting! I think that Jewish women are actually quite hot in looks and in their lovemaking.

While I'll seen many who are quite attractive, adorable, sensitive, funny, caring, etc, etc...I have found some to be not so attractive...perhaps God's way of helping me to pick the right mate ?

Jewish women have to be skilled lovers since all their men have their genitals ritually mutilated at birth.

Are you circumcised ?

I find it a bit troubling.  Many jews were/are seriously religious- to a level beyong many other religions.  To think that they were not looking for the messiah makes little sense.  So, why did they turn from Jesus?  It certainly was not apathy!  That question has plagued my desire to follow my christian upbringing for years.  Actually the lack of a good anwer...

To DrFrank124c; You said, traits of this culture include the formation of tribal groups.  Your historical timeline is a little off. I think tribal groups appeard long before the Jewish appearance.

It began with the threat of persecution. Even Peter denied him 3 times. It has since then, evolved into something more sinister.

Jewish people have a stigma about Christianity. Their understanding of the old testament prophecies basically stated there would be redemption through the Messiah for the Jewish people. They never realized they would be confronted by some idea of them having to give up their identity. If they all had to give up their identity to receive it, there wouldn't be any of them left. THis is the most basic proof that them being required to give it up is a lie.

The irony is, many did anyway while fighting to keep it, simply to escape persecution. I believe you are Jewish by the right of your birth, even if you do end up accepting Yeshua Ha' Meshiach, but many people from many walks of life have an opinion and many Jews are afraid of being disowned by their own people. It is sad really.

That is the culture black america was stuck in...the Jews left and did their own thing...they hated most of the Egyptian ways. Some thought maybe worshipping other gods was cool, but were omitted from the promise for it...

My parents were Jewish but I prefer the New Testament to the Old Testament, it is simply easier to go along with everyone else and not have to follow a whole lot of meaningless rules. I personally think there are many Gods, since modern science accepts the idea of many dimensions, my idea is that each dimension may have many Gods. Hindus to this day believe in countless Gods, so maybe they are right. I live in the modern world and eat non kosher food and do not celebrate or care about the Jewish religion although I cannot say whether or not that religion is any more correct than any othe religion. I couldn't care less if Jews disown me, in fact I prefer to avoid their company because they are plain nasty. So am I still Jewish?

It's really tiring to see that anti-Semitism, or something being dressed up as Judaism fascination, is still prevelant in the chess community.

I would have hoped that after having to endure Bobby Fischer, chess's greatest asshole, on this topic, we might have learned something. Apparently not.

Then you are a moron. There are no gods. Nor are there fairies, elves, gremlins, or ghosts.

Grow up.

THIS kind of thinking is exactly why there is so much sorrow and cruelty in the world.
