Winner of candidates

I think the winner will probably be Karjakin.

The tiebreaks state that if Karjakin draws or wins his game that he will win the candidates, except if Anand wins his game.

So it seems like Karjakin will win.

I think Caruana can win with the black pieces.

It's possible for Fabi to win, and I hope he does, but it's low percentage.

Karjakin is almost as good as Giri at rescuing bad positions.  He will be hard to crack, especially with the White pieces.  In geneeral the players have had trouble converting their advantages in this tournament, and I don't think tomorrow will be any exception.

Karjakin also has nerves of steel, as shown by his final match with Svidler in the World Cup, where he had a whole series of must-win games and managed to win every one of them until finally Svidler cracked.

I don't fancy his chances against Carlsen, unfortunately.

if Karjakin played Magnus in November, that is 60-40 in favor to Magnus.

The rest of the Candidates are even worst.

I go for Karjakin to challenge Magnus in November.

Here's an analogy:

Fabi = Bernie

Sergey = Hillary

Magnus = Trump

Svidler = mainstream media

Vishy = voters

thchozen0ne

Okay someone forgot to mention this, but...

Fabi and Sergey are the only ones who can win it. Vishy is out despite his ability to tie them both if they draw. This is because in case of a draw, Sergey will win with the 2nd tiebreak of having more decisive games. However if Vishy wins and it's a 3 way tie, it will revert to the 1st tiebreak of head to head, for which Fabi beats Vishy and Vishy draws Sergey. Sergey draws Fabi. So in a 3 way tie, Fabi would win.

thchozen0ne

Note that Fabi is the best candidate to take on Magnus as he has beaten him the most times, but Svidler (metaphorically) argues that Fabi cannot win because he cannot win [with] the black pieces (vote). Svidler has white (white corporate interests behind him) and an easy draw against Vishy, or so he claims. However, despite Vishy being at a slight disadvantage being black, if Vishy shows up (turns out on game day), then he will beat Svidler, and in case of a draw between Fabi and Sergey, the tiebreaks (superdelegates) will switch in Fabi's favor and he will win the right to play Magnus!

Trump has no chance!

The Republican Party won't even make him the candidate despite the popular vote - they are under no obligation to do so - clearly they aren't stupid enough to put in an Anti-Muslim, Racist, Riot-Causing, Politically Ignorant, Law Breaking, good for nothing, retarded a-hole that will do nothing but attract ISIS to leave Europe and go after the Disgruntled States of America!

Top 5 Dumbest People on the Planet:

1) Donald Trump

2) Trump Supporters

3) Trump Supporters

4) Trump Supporters

5) Trump Supporters

^^ That's true, and the only inconsistency with my analogy.

So we will probably see Magnus x Karjakin. It will be fun. Better than Vishy for the 3rd time.

likatatoine

I am rooting for Caruana tho.

thchozen0ne

Yes, I want Caruana (an American) to win. That will definitely boost chess in this country!

jo_pac

70-30 in favor of Karjakin to win game 14.

Caruana, just warned you to watch Karjakin line. Karjakin won't let drawn game 14. :))

likatatoine

I still think that Caruana is italian... =P Go Fabi!

mkkuhner

Well, it turns out that the tiebreaks didn't matter...except to the extent that they may have forced Caruana to play a risky game with Black (only the second Sicilian of the whole event--everything else was a Berlin).

andrewcjiang

LETS GO VISHY!!!

He's not Italian, he's American.
