a lost game is a lost game therefore you lose the same rating regardless how you lose even if you do not show up to a game otb.

Does anyone know if your rating goes up less if you win on time vs. winning by checkmate or opponent's resignation? Asking because an opponent of mine just let his time lapse after 40 moves when it became apparent he was going to lose.
