Worst kinds of players

i have had many unplasent encounters with players especially from the U.S.A, Canada, Australia, Great Britain. There are many cynical and disrespectful players from other countries, but still the majority are from these english-speaking countries. From now on i will most likely avoid playing them and i suggest you do that too.

Avoid playing chess with these people from these countries mentioned.

Most likely? You don't sound entirely sold on this, yet you're suggesting others do so?

i am saying most likely since we can never be sure but i will avoid them, since there may be cases when i might not stand to my words...still like i said they are on my black list.

It'll certainly be a profound loss to the chess community, but I understand your decision.

Not trying to be disrespectful, but completely avoiding players from 4 whole countries? just because some of them said something mean? Seems dramatic. Especially considering the vast majority of people don't even write into the chat (at least in my experience).

Definitely, but my angle is that by removing himself and his attitude from our sphere, he's actually doing us a favor, so I'm not about to talk him out of it.

This would have been a good question for the person starting this thread to have asked himself first.

ooo just f off kid

In my experience, when you say things like this to players from the United States, Canada, Australia, and Great Britain, you're going to have unpleasant encounters with them.

That's not nice sad.png

Besides, you can't generalize an entire country based on a few people. Anyways, moderators will see your not so nice comment pretty soon--remember that this is a family friendly website.

As a Brit living in the US, I should defend us. But I've noticed this too, that most of the people I have felt compelled to write a message on their profile telling people to avoid this guy at all costs because they "trash talk" and are abusive in the chats have mostly been from the US (I very rarely get to play against UK opponents). Most of us are pretty decent, though, I think... it's just the odd few that would prefer to spoil it for everyone.

However, the more common practice of waiting until their time expires when the opponent is losing seems to be global.

I would prefer it if people got banned more readily for being abusive, and also for cynically stopping playing when they're in a losing position, but that's the way things are I guess.

Welp, on behalf of all English speaking countries I'll apologize for all of us wretched scoundrels. Also, I wanna say we're gonna miss u and will try hard to fight back the anguish and tears that r welling up already. We'll just just have to find a way to trudge on and hopefully time will heal the pain and sorrow and maybe the emotionally strongest amongst us will be able to console the weaker, younger one's.

With a heavy heart and much pain and regret, my sincerest sympathies.

Cordially, Damon.

I deal with individuals as it happens. I have only had issues with people from India and one each from the UK and Greece in 2 years. Perhaps it is a time issue as I am in Australia I don’t play that many from the USA but I do play people from Asia and Europe. I am rated 1150 approx. when playing 10min rapid tournaments so I am no chess genius:) When someone trash talks me I just write back saying that I will use every second of the clock to prevent them from further harassing others. They seem to be a lot more respectful then.

Could you please make a list of those "bad players" and describe their misbehaviors? Some screenshots will be helpful. After all, youre making arguments with no solid evidence at this point.

Collection_Agency: That's not a good idea I don't think - that's one surefire way of getting banned from the forum.
