In June of 1998 I wrote the following award-winning article, comparing Yahoo chess wih the chess servers, mainly FICS and ICC.

All of that information is still true today, from what I understand. Yahoo chess is a joke. It is NOT the site you want to play chess at.

Yahoo Chess, with its total lack of oversight, is infamous in the internet chess world as being the "Wild West" of online chess. Almost every game is accompanied by a constant stream of profanity, trash-talk, and threats, along with engine use being through the roof there.
I am interested in knowing if I'm alone in thinking this; or furthermore, if you could share your Yahoo chess battle stories.
